Re: Audacity lags issues following system restore
<<<I also have version 1.3.7>>> Good thing because you posted in the Windows Audacity 1.3 forum. I wondered why pieces of this didn't line up. I think I'm officially swimming in the wrong pool now. If you had driver problems, the current machine may have old or outdated drivers or some of the firmwa...

Re: Multi-Channel Simultaneous Recording Release
The poster claims a TASCAM US-144 which has multiple inputs. The question is whether you can slide the guitar to one side and the voice to the other. This will give you two independent sound channels that you can manage and edit to a final show later. If you can't do that, then whatever mix you choo...

<<<1.3.8 is useless anyhow because it refuses to save .aup projects. Time Machine to the rescue...>>>
So you're on a Mac. Have you been following all the troubles 1.3.8 has on Macs? Try the latest build.

Re: Audacity 1.38, issues after using generate silence.
But until then, a handy work-around after you insert silence is Control or Apple-E to zoom into the selection (the silence) and Control or Apple-3 to zoom back out just a little bit. This almost always puts you where you think you should have been in the first place. For one of the other problems, m...

Re: Audacity lags issues following system restore
Audacity 1.3 has a Latency Control that was missing from 1.2 This control can be used to "tune out" the delay problem. I have no idea where it is because I'm on a borrowed computer on vacation, but I know it's there. Windows Audacity 1.2 is nuts to fix because it kept its preferences in th...

Re: Help Recording Mutiple Inputs Simultaneously?
You have an unfortunate choice of equipment. Because of the USB microphone, your choices are the USB microphone or Anything Else You Can Think Of Doing. "OR" not "AND." The simple answer is Audacity will only recognize one Sound Device -- usually stereo, sometimes mono. There are...

Re: Say, is there a cheap preamp with good SNR?
What happens if you go in direct? If you have a Mac or a good Line-In on your PC, you can plug the pickup directly in and go with it. I dragged the scopes and meters into one of the edit rooms and sweet-talked one of the performers into letting me measure their guitar. It turned out to be just sligh...

Re: Record guitar to PC in stereo
Are we solving, in extensive software and track management, a problem that could have been solved with a simple "Y" cable between the guitar and the computer?

Re: Looping Question
The only way I know to do that is in actual editing. select the loop portion and paste, paste, paste (x times).
