Re: Problems changing recording source.
Vista tries to build walls between everything and it messes up source selection. You need to do it instead from the Windows control panels. Re: orphaned blockfiles after crash
<<<three 500 G hard drives >>> Connected how? We warn people that slow or erratic drive connections can cause problems with live capture. By that I mean anything but a built-in hard drive or FireWire (or fiberchannel). USB drives traditionally have been shunned for live capture work because they dec...

Re: Remove bass
Three scenarios present themselves: -- You want to separate the base violin completely from an orchestral performance. -- You want to gently rebalance a performance where the bass track is a little too prominent. -- You took your camcorder to a concert and are now trying to rescue a massively overlo...

Re: Song Seperation
When you Export Multiple, do you get a pile of individual music files? If you only got one sound file, then iTunes will make one Music CD that's continuous beginning to end with no breaks. Reinstalling Audacity 1.2 is a task for the gods. You need to trash and rebuild the Audacity Preferences and in...

What happens if you take one of the outputs of the mixer and go straight into the Line-In of the Mac with one of these? http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102972 Switch the Mac Preferences to Line-In and watch the Apple blue patch volume meter when you play the music. Do you get ...

You did miss one step. Audacity is the only thing that will not play? FireFox is OK, Windows Media is OK, Startup and Shutdown sounders are OK, YouTube is OK?

Re: iMac Puma 10.1.5
I am a relatively recent convert to Mac. When Apple brought out OS-X and finally got it to work, all the engineers ran out and bought one. My thousand year old audio production package was and still is Cool Edit 2000 for the PC. Sorry. You sailed right out of my world. As a fuzzy philosophical idea,...

Re: Can not "EXPORT Multiple" to iTunes
Itunes folders are protected and controlled. I would export to Some Place Else, Select them all, and Open With...iTunes. You seem to have done everything else perfectly. Pay attention to the file sizes inside iTunes. If your music arrives compressed -- way too small a filesize, change the Import spe...

Re: Importing audio
You tried to play a file that Audacity doesn't understand. Audacity will try to play the file without the compression keys, so if you have a 10 to 1 compressed sound file, Audacity will play the file ten times faster. Audacity doesn't convert terribly well, so you need to convert the file in Super o...
