Re: KHz Rate for podcasts

Audacity's default sample rate of 32-bit floating causes problems now and again by making MP3 music files that not everybody can play.

Reset Audacity preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and try that. That's the digital standard for Music CDs.

Re: Echo Audiofire2 "Error while opening sound device"

Audacity also defaults to 32-bit and that doesn't match anything. Try 44100, 16-bit, Stereo.

Re: Help With Computor Recording

That's probably the worst way to do it. If you have Windows XP and certain sound cards, you may be able to capture the sound while it's still digital and not have to use the microphone. That's the "Mix-Out" thing. Then there is the jumper cable and Total Recorder for Windows. http://www.hi...

Re: How to bring several mp3 files to the same level

So you have a basket of sound files over by the credenza and you want to open them up one at a time, set them to the same level and then export as new files? I have a horror of exporting the work as the same filename. One mistake anywhere and you have no show. The problem will be forcing Audacity to...

Re: Audacity AUP file format (looking for documentation)

No. I'm sure someone else will drop in and explain everything. I did make a graphic of the simplest possible AUP project file. I opened up piano2.wav and Saved the Project. This is what happened. I know the upper blob (channel="0") is left and the lower blob (channel="1") is righ...

Re: Audacity AUP file format (looking for documentation)

I would not be using Audacity 1.2. 1.2 was designed at the close of the Harding Administration and is very simple and unsophisticated. Audacity 1.3.8 is much better at accepting commands and controls, but I still wouldn't bet the farm on doing what you want. Audacity 1.3 just recently got batch tool...

Re: Cant Save Project In 1.3.8

You can get that error with wacky filenames. Numbers, upper and lower case letters, dash and underscore. That's it. No other characters should ever appear in a filename. I have to push files around the corporation so I don't use spaces, either.
