Re: Left Channel Silent(?)
<<<Recording using a microphone (Line in) >>> Those two are different. Line-In is a high level, stereo connection and Mic-In (a real microphone connection) is low level mono. Getting them crossed usually gives you Left-Only in a stereo show. If you dig in Audacity Preferences, are they set to 44100,...

Re: Recording Button Freezes Program
There are ways to hide a virus on a Widows machine that make the virus stick during a restore. Chances are it's still there. Which virus protection do you have? Have you ever done an on-line Microsoft virus check? http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.aspx When either of the two pr...

Re: Convert mono to stereo
<<<How do i create stereo from mono with this software?>>> No. First you need Audacity 1.3. You can install both versions as long as you only use one at a time. Load your show. Track > Add Track. Select and copy the original song. Select the new track and paste. Using the tools on the left of the to...

Re: how to connect pre-amp
That usually means it has a driver or other software package to switch between the different services. This is not crazy-talk. There are soundcards that do this pretty well. If there is no sound management or other driver package, then you have a microphone input and you can't easily do what you wan...

Re: how to connect pre-amp
That almost always happens when you plug into the Low Level Microphone Input (Mic-In) of your sound card instead of the High Level Line-In. And it distorts and crunches, right?

Can anybody pile in?
"Any how, Main..."
I used to know somebody over at the FBI from when I lived in Washington, DC. Maybe we can give them a call.

Re: how to connect pre-amp
<<<im forced to use the amplifly option in audicity to fix it.>>> That's probably correct. I bought a Phono Preamp with a volume control on the front. http://www.phonopreamps.com/tc750lcpp.html If I didn't do that, then I would have needed to adjust the volume of each record in the Windows Control P...

Re: Echo Audiofire2 "Error while opening sound device"
Unfortunately, no. It's not strange. Go into Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input and Output. Is the device listed there and, in the case of Input, does the blue patch sound meter flash when you apply audio to the interface? Then Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. That one's a littl...
