Re: I can't hear from the right speaker!!!!!!
My USB microphone only records in mono. Sometimes they will include a driver package to "fake" stereo, but a mono microphone will either record as mono, or left on a stereo capture. Split the stereo track using the black arrow tools on the left, select the active track and copy/paste it in...

Re: Causes XP to Reboot
Audacity doesn't cause system instability, but it does take very good advantage of it if it's already there. -- Auto Defrag fails. We had one poster that naturally assumed Auto Defrag was taking care of this system for a long time and ended up spending hours cleaning up after it. Do a manual defragm...

Re: Recording Multiple Tracks Simultaneously
We warn people against using USB hubs for live production. Put your Live Sound Device into USB-1 and the hub and everything else into USB-2. We were really pushing it when we found that one technique that succeeded in multi-channel. Up until then, there was zero. Write back if you find something. Koz

<<<Presonus's FireBox with WXP.>>> Is that Windows XP? We warn against abbreviations on the forum. About a third of us are from different platforms. I use an MBP. As a fuzzy rule, you should keep everything in 44100, 16-bit, Stereo through the whole pipeline. That's the Music CD standard and, depend...

Re: Apex 181 Mic
You don't have an Apex 181 Condenser microphone, you have a Apex 181 USB Condenser microphone. So there are no connection options. Your capture options are to try to set up audacity to make stereo, or lean on any software package you might have gotten with the microphone. I use a LogiTech USB deskto...

Re: Apex 181 Mic
Microphones are mono. If you don't make special provisions, you either get a mono sound track, or a full stereo track with the show on the Left. Someone will correct me, but Audacity 1.3 has a "Make Stereo" tool? It's in the black arrow tools on the left of the track. You may be able to ge...
