While your show is on the timeline, set a label at the beginning of each song. In Windows, Control-B. Then File > Export Multiple. That will give you a pile of individual files. It's possible that 1.2 will only let you export WAV files that way. Audacity 1.3 will let you export MP3s.

Re: Recording volume problem
Some of the better sound cards have that 20dB boost feature and it's frequently the difference between getting a microphone to work and not. Of course, if it's running at the wrong time...

Yes, I see that. Thank you. I also see you're running Leopard on a G4. Why did you upgrade? Power PC support in Leopard is very second drawer and it's missing completely in Snow Leopard. We have a couple of other people with crossed operating systems and they, too, have weird problems. Tiger was the...

Layering 16 Sequencial Performances -- Tutorial?
I've never seen a tutorial or any writeup at all on how to create a sixteen instrument orchestral piece with one working input on the computer, a pair of headphones, and Audacity.

Re: Please help
I didn't quite follow that, but in any event, you can't record two things at the same time without adding a mixer. You didn't mention a microphone. Is there one? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477 The desperation method is to record the drum track and then play that back whi...

Re: Windows Media Player cannot open wav file to burn to cd
The Audacity process is to get the whole thing on one timeline and set a label (Control-B) at the beginning of each song. Then Export Multiple and Audacity will produce a pile of individual WAV files for burning.

Re: recording with sony pcm d50, then direct to cd
<<<it was an EV-635 feeding a sony cassette machine>>> Electro-Voice 635a, yes. I still have a 635a, I don't remember where I got it from, but the tape machine's long gone. I do have an original adapter cable, probably built in the early 70s. It was in use in one of two college ration stations. WMUC...

Re: Certain vinyl rips won't play on my ipod..
Audacity has an unfortunate default setting in Preferences. The sound bit depth sets itself to 32-floating which can cause problems. Reset to 16-bit, restart Audacity and see if the new files you make work any better.

Re: Recording volume problem
Has it ever worked? Does it work with Windows Sound Recorder? Windows Sound Recorder Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment What happens if you plug into the Mic-In and select that in all the appropriate panels? Does this sound card have a 20dB Boost Option and is it turned on? Koz
