Re: Can't Hear Music Playing?
We can guess. Where does the sound meter bounce? Is it way on the left hand edge? You can pull the meters out of the operating window and expand them to see what's what. Start a fresh Audacity and open up this file... http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2.wav It's six seconds long. Does that play OK? Koz

Just a note. You're not doing production with this, right? You're just testing?

Re: [Help Needed] Low Volume when exporting MP3
Describe how you're listening to it.
If you open up that song in Audacity again, is it still low -- does match the song before exporting?

Re: Subliminal Messages
Nobody is piling on to answer this because it's a college level course in recording and production. Some parts of that don't even have wiki pages or tutorials.

Re: New to recording music.
<<<Of course, you have to have a quiet room.>>> Note we all keep piling on this one idea. It's not trivial. Most people ignore all the trash they're listening to all the time. They tune it out -- until it becomes part of the show. Suddenly, you become aware of all the sound you listen to all day lon...

Re: Strange recording
<<<when i record streaming music>>> How? If your setup turns the show into standard music format first and then records it, then this should work. If the recording system tries to retain the original music format, this isn't going to work. Much of the newer on-line music is not recorded in MP3. Auda...

Re: Recording will not play back when I hit "record"
I'm fuzzy on what you're trying to do. If you want Audacity to start a whole new timeline with a fresh live recording, then there may be something wrong with your Audacity. If you want Audacity to stop what it's doing and add onto an existing performance, then you're in the wrong Audacity. Audacity ...
