Re: exporting to LAME

<<<i have an older macbook (2006, OS X 10.4) and i have the audacity 1.2 version.>>>

Need more detail. Apple > About This Mac and read us what it says after Processor. Audacity one-point-two-point what? That last number makes a big difference.

Re: exporting to LAME

On a Mac, this can be the wrong Audacity. If you're on a new Mac; Intel, Leopard (10.5) or above, you should be on Audacity 1.3. I like 1.3.7. The new machines do not support Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.3.7 -- Mac http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.7.zip If you have an Intel ma...

Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message

Re: merging

You should be in Audacity 1.3 if you're not already. Track > Stereo To Mono. If you can live with a mono, mixed track, you're done. If a stereo track is required, then... Track > Stereo To Mono Edit > Duplicate Track Tools (on the left) > Make Stereo Track. Most people want the split because it allo...

Re: Error Recording - error opening sound device

Export, Export, Export. Export is the only way to get a sound file. Audacity will not Save a sound file. File > Export As WAV File > Export as MP3 In the case of the show with multiple layers and hundreds of individual performances mixed, Save Project, and then Export As WAV. The WAV sound file shou...

Re: Lost project file - save recording / join au files?

The files go left, right, left, right. That kills most raw file managers. One of the Audacities didn't number them sequentially, either. This happened enough that one of the developers wrote very good rescue tools. Crash Recovery http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery We do warn ...

Re: [Help Needed] Low Volume when exporting MP3

The holy grail is to have the sound performance smash up against maximum volume and sit there through the whole show. Live performances don't act like that. The graceful tools are Amplify and Normalize. Run Amplify on your production and use a peak value of zero if it's not there already. That's the...
