Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
Thanks for the link. The peak specification is the only one they explicitly call out and that one matches ACX. In My Opinion, if you can meet ACX, you can publish anywhere. You are apparently the only exception. Since you are in conference with them, see if you can pin them down to how they measure ...

Re: Recording level hiss
Unless you stopped it, Windows will try to make everything you do into a conference call. This is the likely cause of unexplained odd noises, distortion, and behavior. Right-click the speaker icon in the lower right and drill down into the sound enhancements and turn them off. Also I think you can g...

Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
You are one-in-a-row of people with no obvious problems and yet failed acceptance. Finding and posting their technical standards may go a long way to figuring this out. Where are they posted?

Re: sound is compressed for any held out tone
Turn off the automatic volume control and noise reduction. Unless you tell it not to, Windows enhancements will treat everything you do as a conference or chat to include "cleaning out" all that noise. All sound tones longer than about a second are "noise" and are suppressed. Tha...

Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
Does Bunny have a posted list of standards and practices? Audacity Audiobook Mastering is based on the published notes of ACX/Audible, and we have had multiple successes from performers who follow all the rules. There are two side trips. If Bunny falls in love with digital zero background noise, tha...

Re: repair more than 128 samples
You can try this manually, without the formal code. The windows at the bottom of the Audacity frame can be switched to Samples with the tiny black arrow to the right of the number display. Screen Shot 2020-04-28 at 10.57.40.png Switch to Start and Length with the blue up and down arrows. Pick an are...

Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
1.) Compression- Your recording is heavily compressed... 2.) Hiss/White noise- There is a high level of white noise/hiss... A lot of production is bookkeeping. Are you absolutely sure you sent Bunny Studio a clean sample? Their reaction and your sound files don't match. Did they call your submissio...

Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
One other note. Your chapters have to match, so if you go for the warm, comfortable sound with a single character or narrator, you have to do it that way through the whole book.
Another New User problem. The first and last chapters also have to match.

Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
I don't hear any compression or processing. I mastered Shaka and it easily passes ACX Audiobook standards. First three readings and sentence 2/3 down. The Noise Limit is -60dB, you should pass that by at least -65dB, and yours is -68dB. Shaka.png audacity_shaka_sample-Mastered.wav The only differenc...
