Re: Audaity Software shutting my computer down
If you've never had to do system diagnostics on your PC before, now is the time. My Computer > C: > Properties. If you have an 80BG hard drive, It shouldn't be much fuller than about 65GB. Then error check and defragment from that same window. If you do all that and the computer still crashes, then ...

Re: connecting to 'master out' on a mixer, no speakers

<<<Would this be an issue that setting record device can solve?>>> I think it's something that fixing your computer can solve. Audacity is a coal mine canary. It can point to problems you didn't know you had. Audacity uses generous hardware memory and drive space (most production software packages f...

Re: Audaity Software shutting my computer down
Do you know how large your hard drive is and how much room you have on it? Shutting down the computer is pretty serious and there's not a lot of things that can do that.

Re: Can't Open Project File
I've gotten burned with this in Audacity 1.2. You might try leaving Audacity closed and right click the AUP file > Open With > Audacity.
Just to cover the Usual Suspects. Did you change, rename, delete, clean up or do anything else to the Project after you saved it the last time?

Re: recording a sibelius file on to Audacity
If Audacity plays your sound file as a high-pitched squeak, that's because Audacity didn't understand how the sound file was made. The squeak usually means a compressed file -- the file size is smaller than you think you would need to play the music. Almost all iPods use compressed files in order to...

Re: Bad Bass tone
There's an excellent chance you can't do any of those things if you have a Windows Laptop. Both the guitar and the amp supply very high level sound signals (Line Level) and most laptops have very sensitive microphone connections. Some laptops have the ability to switch one connection between High Le...
