Re: Sound has disappeared from recording
If you used sound clips or music from several different sources in your show, then the original music files can't be changed, either. You can't compose a show and then go around and delete, change, or rename all the original music. You tried to record your audio tape again and it failed? Describe ho...

Re: Help! When I load a FLAC file, playback is garbled.
<<<When I import any of the flac or MP3 music files >>> What happens if you just Open them instead of Importing them? <<<Then I reinstalled them>>> I need the words: "The installer asked me for a language when the program opened the first time." If you can't say those words, then Audacity ...

Re: Sound has disappeared from recording
You can open up your AUP file in Notepad or Wordpad and read it just like the one I posted. It's written in XML which is a semi-English programming language. It's not a sound file. It will not look neat and orderly like the one I posted, I added spaces and carriage returns for graphic clarity, but t...

Re: Sound has disappeared from recording
<<<I did correct the spelling in the file name of the project file>>> Ding, Ding, Ding! Can't do that. The parts of a Project, their spelling and locations are written inside the AUP file. Literally written. If you change anything, the Project turns to trash because the writing inside the file doesn...

Re: Crackly crinkly sound problem
If I had to guess about it, I would say you had too many adapters strung together. The computer may be able to supply just enough battery to run the Express Card correctly and then not much left over. The FireBox doesn't plug into the wall socket for power, does it? So it's trying to get all of its ...

Re: Audaity Software shutting my computer down
Your next message should say: "We checked the hard drive inside the machine." followed by a size and how much empty space you have. If you're not sure how to do that, find someone more familiar with first level computer maintenance and show them these messages. If you don't, there's a chan...

Re: Sound has disappeared from recording
<<<when I clicked on the file,>>> You clicked on the Audacity AUP project manager file. That's the file that manages all the other files in your show. It's not a sound file, it's a manager. If you move things around or clean up or change file names anywhere, you can destroy a Project accidentally. I...

Re: Have a music file that needs a speed change- how to?
Are you on a PC? Did you rip the music or did you try to "copy" the music from the disks? CDEX does a really good job of ripping music CDs into "real" audio files. On Macs, use iTunes. Were they real Music CDs? Do they play in your car? Audacity isn't a terrific media converter. ...

Re: Can't Open Project File
We tell people, with significant universal truth, that you can't move an Audacity Project. Projects are complex, multi-file affairs that break easily. Export As WAV (unless you have many layers) and move that.
