Re: When recording vinyl album, can you separate tracks?

Record one side, Pause the recording, flip the record, and record the other side. Export As WAV. That's the protection sound file. One file per record. While the performance is open, put a label at the front of each song. In Windows I think it's Control-B. Then Export Multiple. Audacity will give yo...

Re: Live Concerts Audio Editing

Nice concert. Somebody else posted with a Really Loud live performance and we couldn't help them, either. Once the microphone(s) on top of the camera overload, that's the end of the game. It produces complex distortion that's almost impossible to clean. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: exporting file

It's a programming language. It's not a sound file.

Sometimes you can get this if you pressed Pause on your show instead of Stop.

Which Windows?

Re: Unable to import audio from iTunes

Audacity will not recognize iTunes AAC sound format. You can use iTunes to make a WAV copy of your song by going into... iTunes > Preferences > CD Import Preferences > WAV (Auto) Control-Click on your music and select "Make A WAV Version." That WAV version should open up in Audacity. Koz

Re: Audaity Software shutting my computer down

That's enough assuming it's defragmented and error free, but even if it's not, it will crash Audacity, not the computer.

I'm about out of ideas. Let's see what the rest of the Audacity elves think.

Re: 1.3.9 sometimes export partly crashed AIFF

If you leave the Audacity preferences files alone, all your customizations and settings will travel with you from version to version. If you think you may have a damaged Audacity, then it's best to destroy everything and start over. You know when you are starting absolutely from the beginning when A...

<<<The cable went from the headphone jack to the line in (blue) jack on the computer.>>>

That's pretty much what's supposed to be happening, yes. If you carefully pull the cable out of the tape player and plug headphones in, do you hear anything?

<<<I don't know what "Super" is.>>>

Super and Switch are very nice format converters. One paid license, one not.

I need to go back and look at the thread (all the elves work on multiple threads).
