Emphasis on the software. If you go the USB sound card route, the best you can do is jam a jumper cable between the Line-Out and Line-In. That's two analog/digital conversion with damage each conversion. The software should be able to capture the digital sound in one pass.

Re: Recording help....please!
In addition, producing a "stereo" track like that will give you time references between them. At the exact time that one radio was doing this, the other radio was doing that. On a more whimsical note. I don't think there's an official name for what you're doing. "Stereo" (Stereop...

Here's the wiki piece on recording internet audio... Windows Control Panel http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel Mix-Out is not a tool of Windows. It's a tool of the sound card, and if your sound card doesn't have it, that's the ball game. You can ...

<<<Oh, I assumed the newer machine would do everything better.>>> Macs generally do that. Remember you're using a left-brain business machine to do right-brain audio production. The newer PCs are a lot better at business applications and corporate integration. <<<PS: Someone says Total Recorder's dr...

Re: Remixing songs
<<<How would I go about to remixing a recording done using one microphone? The best you can do is separate the main ...

Far from being the default, I'm betting the Vista machine doesn't have Mix-Out at all. Many new machines don't. Further, I'm betting you're capturing the awful built-in microphone recording the terrible built-in speakers. The only two escapes are cross patch the two high level connections on an exte...
