Re: Making a voice looks older?

Find a human voice talent. It's not a simple change and it may not even be a pitch change. It's delivery rhythm, accented phrases and sometimes a little quiver to the voice. Nobody remembers Gilda Radner's real voice, but she did old women so well that it was a shock the first time you heard her spe...

Re: How to convert recording to MP3 file?

<<<a box appears with spaces to fill in the artist/title/date etc>>> That's been corrected in later Audacity versions. You don't have to put anything in that box. Just press OK and you should be taken to the export panel. In Audacity 1.2, you need to have already set up MP3 export in Edit > Preferen...

Re: Audacity/Native Instruments Guitar Combo/USB ASIO

<<<anyone got any tips?>>> Stop using ASIO drivers? ASIO is paid software, so there is little or no ASIO support in Audacity. If your system supports Windows drivers, then that may be the way out. <<<how do I get both programmes to recognise the USB ASIO device at the same time?>>> You may not, ever...

Re: No Speakers, Just HeadSet, Recording issue

<<<No i am sure it isn't the project sample rate >>> And you know that because.......? Generally, some combination of the three settings will hit it. Line-In Devices generally talk 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and Microphone connections might respond to 44100, 16-bit, Mono. Restart Audacity after each chan...

Re: No Speakers, Just HeadSet, Recording issue

Does this machine have a separate internal sound card, like SoundBlaster, or is sound services built into the motherboard? Sometimes you can have both and you need to turn the built-in one off in CMOS Setup before you try to use the separately purchased one.

One giant step backward. Why are you doing all this?

Re: remove music from music+voice by fft ?

Plus, you only get cancellation between two audio files if they are bit-for-bit identical except for the singer. Those are extraordinarily hard to come by. It doesn't count if you got both tracks via MP3 and the internet. MP3 damages sound as it works and it damages the cancellation. Also, the two s...

Re: Cutting an mp3

You can get weird problems like that if you pressed Pause instead of Stop at the end of the recording. You also used a lot of odd words in your post. Audacity doesn't capture in MP3. It always captures in high quality WAV. You only get the MP3 after you export. Did you Export? Alternately, did you c...

Re: Instructions Needed To Record Voice Message

"Options" might give you the Recording Panel. Or at least it does in Windows 2000. Once you get there, you might find controls for Microphone-Input.

Re: Big mistake made by newby!!

I wonder if Windows® tried to move the _data folder to the mounted CD instead of burning a music CD. It's also possible that the _data folder exists on your CD. Don't throw anything out or delete anything until we figure this out.

Do a search for the show name and see if anything turns up.
