Re: No sound getting through
<<<My ultimate goal is to transfer something from a cassette tape onto a CD, via my laptop. >>> Yes, I'm perfectly clear what the goal is. Let's take this another direction. I'm finding it hard to believe you found two cassette machines with connectors that have no labels. Almost every sound machine...

You can also use Chris's Compressor which takes a more active role in volume leveling. This one changes individual phrases and segments so everything matches... Re: Remove lisp.
By the way, you were not "lisping" you were experiencing plosives which produce a sudden outrush of air which drives microphones crazy. Do you have a little foam cover for the mic element? http://www.supremeaudio.com/foams.htm Also, place the mic element about an inch away and off to one s...

Re: I really need beginner help with the VOCODER
You probably need AutoTune software not vocoder. Vocoder makes your voice sound like a musical instrument...like this.

AutoTune makes you sound like you know how to sing even if you don't.

Re: Audacity has stopped working.......
I'm not a Windows elf, but I can hear them telling you to download and run Audacity 1.3. you can put both versions on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open up in 1.2. Audacity 1.2 was written during the Harding Administration and can't cope with the ...

Re: Large Files
I would totally be trying to use one of the straight MP3 editors out there with the idea that they will not convert the show to anything else before editing like Audacity will. Audacity will not edit an MP3 file. It converts everything to its own internal, high quality format and then makes you expo...

Re: No sound getting through
They're not bad. The intention is for you to apply audio to them in order to record it to a tape inside the machine. Not take audio out of them. I think your best bet is the headphone socket. If it's a 1/4" stereo headphone plug and socket, you can easily get an adapter to convert it to 1/8&quo...

Re: "Could not open MPE encoding library!"
Whenever we encounter somebody trying to change things around down at the byte and instruction level, it's always good to find out the Big Picture because, more often that not, they're wrong or trying to swim uphill. You're clearly not wrong, but what you want may not work anyway. Simple little Auda...
