Re: Underlying white noise
Microphones make their own noise and they have to be boosted in a MicPre to be loud enough to do production. All MicPres make noise. All that boosting is inside a USBheadset microphone and the manufacturers have to take serious shortcuts to make everything small enough to wear on your head. One of t...

Re: Time Shift tool
It's Apple plus Scroll on Macs, but it may be less handy than the hot keys. It's really easy to lose control of the zooming and push your show into a little pile of blue trash on the left side of the screen -- or off the screen.

Re: silence after 16seconds
I think Tiger would do a system health test by itself without the install disks. Panther required them. It's important to make sure the basic machine is healthy and in good spirits because I'm running out of other reasons why portions of your show would vanish. We established you're the only user of...

Re: Alter Voices to sound like fighter pilot or space man
Nowhere is it written (except in Hollywood) that radio voices have to sound like a 1963 carbon button lip microphone. Most airplanes don't sound like that any more. Some are strikingly good. Is this one of those "Everybody Knows?" Everybody Knows a radar has to go 'round and 'round. (Last ...

Re: recording halfway through a track
You can record the song anywhere on the timeline and then use the Tracks > Align tool to push the performance sooner or later wherever you want it.
I believe Transport > Append Record allows you to start recording anywhere. Shift-R.

Re: volume levels in the middle of a track
The Envelope Tool will do that. Click on the two white arrows and bent blue line icon and two rubber bands will appear over your show. You can click and push the volume around with those anywhere in the show.

Yes, a beedlioop at the beginning for a polling radio system and ththththP at the end for a squelch tail. That's the Hollywood version. The last radio I had with a squelch tail was 1985 and the beedlioop is missing from military radios. They don't have to share channels. They have exclusive rights t...
