Re: loaded disc
You computer internal hard drive maybe full. This is very dangerous and it could cause your computer not to start. The computer has two kinds of memory. There is an electronic memory that does the day to day thinking bout how to run your computer and do tasks. If you run out of electronic memory (it...

Re: Opening project error, not saving
Neatly side-stepping the issue, you probably shouldn't be saving Audacity Projects at all. If you expect Audacity to produce a nice, simple, stand-alone, standard sound file, you should be Exporting one. File > Export As WAV. Are you on a newer Intel Mac with Leopard or Snow Leopard (OS-X 10.5 or 10...

Re: Recording Audio - Kiss the Mic Problem
<<<I still can't head it though the headphones as I'm recording.>>> That's what playthrough does. There are two options, hardware and software playthrough because frequently, one of them works far better than the other. Experiment. It's possible neither of them will work right. Windows machines are ...

Re: Problems Recording from Dat player
Are you using the SPDIF connection on your Mac? That makes one in a row. I don't know anybody else who does that. DAT machines speak Broadcast AES/EBU sound and so does your Mac. We have DAT in our video machine room and it will speak to any of the multi-thousand dollar video decks with no effort. A...

Re: hardware or software problem?
A note. It is possible to mess up the cartridge connections such that the left and right cancel. On a stereo show, you can almost get away with that, but the performances will have no bass and few if any vocals -- pretty much the symptoms on each of these turntables. It's broken. Send it back. Koz

Re: Leveller effect adds distortion
This wouldn't be the first time people have batted these terms around. The original 2-way radios either had carbon microphones or diode/resistor networks in the sound channel to keep the apparent loudness up cheaply, since it didn't matter at all the quality of the voice. Nobody would argue if you c...

Re: Can't export files as .wav??? Please help.
<<<You can also email me at>>> We could, but probably won't because we like to keep discussions on the forum. Audacity 1.3 has an extra step where it shows you a MetaData panel where you get to put in 'Artist Name' etc. Just OK that panel without putting anything in and the system should take you to...

Because you have Mix Out and Microphone open at the same time. One of them is late.

Will it open if you do it the hard way? Start > All Programs > etc?
