Re: December 2 Webinar

I think what may kill you before anything else is that the elves do this in fifteen second blocks as we find time between everything else going on. It's not continuous. The forum lends itself to this and is one of the reasons we seem to be everywhere at the same time. We're not, but if you sample a ...

Re: Audacity 1.2.6 won't record

Now you dig around in Audacity Preferences and either set the same thing as in Apple preferences, or sometimes it works to just select Default Device. While we're in Preferences, set 44100, 16-bit (not 32) and Stereo (not Mono). Restart Audacity. When you start Audacity cold, you can click once insi...

Re: no sound on pc vista

<<<Same problem here... >>> You do have the same problem except it's completely different. Audacity will not Save Sound files. To get a sound file that will play in other applications, File > Export As WAV. WAV files are perfect copies of the show on the timeline. If you don't care so much about qua...

Re: Mp3 stereo to mono

Just for grins, pull down this six second stereo piano solo from here...

Restart Audacity, open up that file and see if all your tools work.

Re: Cant record from PC!!

If you have a large deskside PC or a Mac, you can plug the Line-Out into the Line-In, adjust the sound levels and record that way, but most laptop PCs don't have Line-In. Mic-In is mono, not stereo and distorts very easily.

Re: Cant record from PC!!

If your computer doesn't supply the pathways with internal services and drivers, you can get the same effect with software like Total Recorder.

I've been using my licenses for years.

Re: Cant record from PC!!

<<<But there shoud've been a steriomix or something more on that list.>>> Is there an advanced selection or extra settings? There should've been if the maker of the sound card provided one. The ability to reverse a sound card and run it in both directions at once is supplied by the maker of the card...

Re: Loud Crackling

M-Audio equipment tends to use ASIO software drivers. Audacity tends to not because they're a fee-based license. They cost money. If the unit has Windows drives, too, then Audacity should fall right in line. If not, then your choices are to compile Audacity yourself with ASIO support, or use another...
