Re: Need a Mic

<<<They also have the problem of short leads.>>> To build on that, you can never get away from your noisy computer. USB microphones are aggressively intended for very small, limited production in tiny rooms, and they die a quick death the first time somebody says, "How do I plug a second mircop...

Re: distortion in phones while recording

Just so we're clear. You record vocal and the guitar sounds distorted. Stop, Edit > Undo, and do the exact same thing again only this time it's clean? Can you try that next time it does it? Re: New User here

Effect > Change Tempo. It's almost impossible for software to tell what the BPM of a song is, so you need to do that with a stopwatch, iTunes and a calculator. Then plug the numbers into the tool. <<<if i put to songs together in two stereo tracks, will they get sync'ed automatically ?>>> Nope. You ...

Re: Restoring files after no sound

<<<will audacity recognise this and restore sound?>>> Yes. It will. However you have to hit it exactly. All the folders and filenames have to match exactly the original show. We had one poster who complained that he didn't rename any files, he just created a music folder and put everything in it. Do...

<<<a simple headset/mic combo as used for VOIP>>> Do you use Skype or one of the other services? Skype in particular Always Works in almost any computer because they rip the sound services out of your hands, reconfigure them for a phone call and then sometimes don't give them back later. Re: file playing problem

Broadening the scope of the question a bit. Why are you doing this? If your purpose is to do production, sound manipulation and editing, then MP3 is the last thing you want. Convert to WAV, do the production and then convert back down. WAV files do not degenerate during editing, unlike the other com...

Re: Recording "what you hear" with Windows 7

The sound card and the operating system have to both support What U Hear. Without either one, it's just not there.

See if Total Recorder has a Windows 7 version yet.
