Re: Using VOIP Phones to record interviews?

The two upper licenses for Pamela, Professional and Business, will record both sides of a Skype connection to individual tracks for processing, level setting, and production. The other licenses and other capture software in general smashes the two conversations together onto one track. That works pe...

Re: Pop/Click Noise when applying effects or trimming

I had a minute to mess with it. I'm on Audacity 1.3.7 on an Intel Mac, OS-X 10.5.8 Leopard. I opened up the "raw" solo and beat the beans out of it. I reversed some of the notes, I trimmed several silent segments at both ends and the middle, I inserted silence. I did everything but stretch...

Nobody will fall down wide-eyed in amazement that you couldn't get the Change tools to work (Change Tempo, etc) Most people can't get them to work.

Re: Pop/Click Noise when applying effects or trimming

I didn't pull down the edited files yet. I'm much more interested in making the existing one break. That perfection is still raising flags out here. Nobody shoots a cold, live sound track that accurately, particularly a trumpet, which, in the wrong hands can damage a microphone and certainly cause s...

Re: Pop/Click Noise when applying effects or trimming

I got the file down here and it's a perfectly excellent recording of a trumpet solo. Perfect in practically every way (thank you Mary Poppins). It's way too perfect. There isn't a sound person in Hollywood or anywhere else that could have recorded that live performance without a lot of help. The hig...

<<<P.S. If it helps,>>>

That's the one we need. You're perfectly clear about your production nightmares, but if we don't have access to the original sound clip, we'd be trying to steer the car with elastic bands on the wheel.

Re: Spectrum log(f) LEGENDA

The plain spectrum tells you that for any one sample of the song, the following frequencies were present. It doesn't tell you exactly when. This is the spectrum of me pressing the "G" key on my piano. It represents all the energy during the entire key press. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/...

Re: Audacity 1.2.6 & Windows 7

Could that be a cousin to this problem... http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=796 You really should be on Audacity 1.3. 1.2 was designed four operating systems ago. How many programs are you still running that you had running on Windows 98? Far from being "unstable," Aud...

Re: Live Recording 5,000 hours

One item. The web site claims the ability to record both sides of a VOIP call. Actually a number of software packages can do that, but can it record me on left and them on right? That's Pamela's trick allowing extensive production and filtering at no great effort.

<<<Audio Hijack Pro on Mac. >>>

Hmmmm. That appears to work like the original WireTap before they improved it into the dirt. Where's my credit card....
