Re: export as wav

At the bottom of the Audacity work windows there's a clicky called Snap To. Turn that off. Audacity 1.2 and Windows is an interesting combination. You don't reinstall Audacity by resintalling Audacity, you do it by trashing the Audacity Configuration file and Audacity starts over. Except in 1.2/Wind...

Re: why do the waveforms I'm recording look like this...?

You're capturing vinyl on a new USB turntable? Those show up here a lot. They're throw-away turntables and sometimes you have to throw them away a little too early.

Describe the system and how it's connected.

It may not go all the way up. That's too loud and will create a seriously damaged show.

You can continue to use Audacity to capture the work, just stop Saving Projects.

Re: Record 2 inputs with USB mic

That's not entirely true any more. I can't find it now that I want it, but the latest services have something called... maybe "composite microphone?" "Conjoined Microphone," something like that. It allows you to plug in two microphones into different USB ports and they will arriv...

Re: Overly Large Database on Windows

I so would not be using Audacity Projects for this. Open up your Projects one at a time (if you still can) and Export As WAV. This should give you a much more consistent filesize from record to record and as a bonus, it gives you standard, common WAV sound files that you can copy to backup media. Yo...
