Re: new user cassette issue, no volume!???
I know this is hard, but forget listening to the work. One thing at a time. In the Apple Preference panels, you should have Audio Line-In selected. The bouncing blue lights in that panel should not jump when you clap, but they should move when you play the tape. Make sure the tape is rewound when yo...

This combination also causes the famous shortcut key activation when you're trying to export your file, and a number of other oddities. The first time you need any graceful handling of your show effects, yo...

<<<and into microphone in on mac (the other is the headphone jack)>>> You have it plugged into the Stereo Line-In (two black arrows a a circle) because Macs don't have Mic-In. The sound meter in Apple Preferences is very sensitive. Where does it bounce? If it's in the bottom third of the meter, ther...

Re: Retrieving an unsaved file
Go into Audacity Preferences > Directories and see if you can get any hints from that. That's the place where you tell Audacity where you want the temporary files to go. Past that, search your brains out. I wonder if you even get an AUP file. Nobody saved a Project and that's what creates the file. ...

Re: Audacity install on Mac OS X
They're right. Leopard/Intel does not support Audacity 1.2. I use Audacity 1.3.7 for almost everything on my Macs... Audacity 1.3.7 -- Mac http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.7.zip You can also take your chances with the current version from the download site. Audacity Curren...

Re: Import Tracks/ Clear HD Sounding
Step 1, stop using MP3 for production. Use WAV. MP3 is a compressed delivery format and adds distortion and damage to the show every time you use it. http://www.kozco.com/tech/WAV-MP3.wav You may benefit from Saving a Project instead of Exporting As WAV. Maybe both. Audacity Projects are not sound f...

Re: Bass fade out. true mix
I thought I posted an answer to this question.... The envelope tool will let you slowly fade between the song with normal bass and the song without bass. No switching. It will sound like you slowly turned the bass down, crossed, and then turned it back up. If you have all four tracks, you can manage...

Re: adding media files
We're hoping you want to add sound files. Audacity is not a video editor. Once the show is on your timeline, File > Export As WAV and Audacity will create a Microsoft WAV sound file which should slide right into Wndows Media. Audacity will not directly create a WMA file, but I believe Windows Media ...
