Re: None of the judges turned their chairs
I'm not sure where to go with this. Apparently, Bunny's requirements are different enough from ACX's that we're not going to get there. Not having specific written numerical goals is rough. It's hard to deal with "the tiniest bit of hiss." But fold that into this whole transaction. Bunny A...

Well, WR, I think we're ready for the Big Time. Little significant background noise and no echoes. There goes mum's kitchen. You do have frying mosquitoes, so I got rid of them with the killer. Mosquito-Killer4.ny Then I mastered it with the Audacity Audiobook Mastering Suite. https://www.kozco.com/...

While you have the stereo show in Audacity, use the drop-down menu under the black arrow on the left Split Stereo to Mono. Select each track and apply the corrections. Then Menu > Make Stereo Track.

You didn't mention making mistakes or editing anywhere in your post. Nobody can read a whole book without making mistakes and it's a terrible idea to make the listener sit through you correcting your voice in real time. How were you going to do that?

the version I have, my very first one, is an improvement from older versions I don't think commercial tutorials are going to help you very much because they're all going for publishing and getting paid. Audacity publishes process and mastering techniques that may not be right for you either, for th...

Re: Possible to reverse effects added to audio
An original performance should be saved as an Audacity Lossless Project, or Exported as WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit sound file as a backup before you do anything to it.I had an audio file of a chant I had done - abt a 30 min file.

it was recorded virtually over the zoom. So that's a Zoom recording? That's super good to know because this quality problem has come up before where the chat company (apparently) destroyed the sound quality. not once this issue occurred(so far) You can't do that. If somebody forced me to guess at t...

With no other data than that, I'd say RichardsiMac10 doesn't "own" the places that Audacity needs to step in order to launch. Console gives me... It makes me nervous when someone posts with console familiarity. That could mean they inadvertently created a System conflict and it's going to ...

Re: How to do loudness normalization in Audacity?
I tried amplify but it requires clipping to be loud enough. You may be experiencing an odd audio effect. Distortion sounds loud. That's what lets stores sell cheap music systems. If you cure the clipping the perceived volume is going to go back down again. Are you curing the problem of recording Sk...

Re: Recording Zoom call
It produces an mp4 file that I can convert to mp3 for publishing. Did you listen to it? There are reports of poor sound quality when you let the chat app company do the work. I didn't have to worry about data transfers, etc. Good you're worrying. I would worry about sound quality and having it die ...
