Re: Cursor problems
One last thing. Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported by Intel Macs under Leopard or Snow Leopard. If you're using 1.3.10 and you have difficulty with Export Multiple, you might consider going up to 1.3.11 from the nightly builds... http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Builds I use 1.3...

<<<I'm not a spokesperson>>> We're spokes-elves. Since you got that far, you're going to find that Audacity doesn't have Edit Markers. The closest we get is Labels (Command-B). So it's a little rough to accurately select large portions of show. Set two labels and use the fact that they're magnetic o...

Re: Sound has disappeared
The blue waves are created from two or more graphics files within Audacity, so it's easy to get them out of step with the show by accident. What, exactly, is the show? Mixed music segments in a podcast? Unless you changed it, Audacity does not pull music into itself for editing. It uses music files ...

It seems your computer isn't fast enough to do live capture. How full is your hard drive and when was the last time you defragmented it?

Re: "click" from coaxial cable
I don't think it's the cable, either. Are the two devices speaking the same bit rate? You could be listening to the CD recorder trying to periodically catch up with the high bitrate of the mixer.

<<<The hissing is compression artefacts, note the hiss precedes the woman's voice, (this pre-echo is a compression artefact).>>> I don't know that I would agree. We know that the piece was highly produced and edited and I noticed the hiss during the woman's voice. If the woman was as off-mic as the ...

Re: How to remove noise/crackling thats only in the voice
The woman's voice was recorded with a certain hiss level in the capture channel and the man's voice was recorded with the microphone too close to his lips. If you listen carefully, you can hear his breath briefly after some of the responses. On some of his words, there is significant though brief ov...

Re: Recording live opera
Metallic, gargly, bubbly sound is usually digital compression. Yes, it always gets worse. Compressed performances are designed to be the end product. That's the one you post on the internet for other people to listen to, not to mount and do further production. Internet posts and files must be really...
