Re: DVD-Audio

<<<I want to burn audio files to a dvd.>>> On a Mac, you put the blank DVD in the machine and OK the opening dialog. Drag the sound files over to it and burn. That will produce a Data DVD with the straight sound files on it. On a Windows machine, you need to add a CD/DVD Authoring tool (Nero), but i...

Re: how put MP3 drum samples together for a track?

<<<I know how to drag and drop them in and they align ok >>> You dragged them over, or you ripped them with CDex or other program? Music files on a Music CD are not WAV files and they have to be converted for use outside of the CD. The difference isn't major, but CD audio tracks are stripped of some...

Re: Randomly stops recording-very frustrating!

What kind of computer are you using? Can you see the hard drive light? If the drive light goes crazy at the exact time your capture crashes, then you are running out of drive space or the space you have is cluttered and unusable. We expect a drive light flicker every second or half-second on a healt...

Re: Audacity recordind from digital or analogue?

<<<But do you know if USB sound cards allow Audacity to record internet streams? >>> I don't know that recording like that is a direct function of the sound card. You can "make" a virtual sound card in memory that will allow internet recording. There doesn't have to be any hardware there. ...

Re: stretching track

<<<Audacity ought to. >>> Before you get too excited about this, you should be on a version of Audacity that's not ten years old. I have Intel machines and use Audacity 1.3.7. Audacity 1.3.7 -- Mac http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.7.zip ...or you can go for the current off...

Re: When I add a track, its in, but its less then a second?

-- Audacity doesn't support video formats. -- Audacity doesn't support advanced sound formats, video or not. Audacity 1.3 supports more formats than 1.2 does, but there's still no awards. When you try to load a foreign file,it goes by at high speed depending on the compression amount. Change the wor...

Re: Distortion on audio of MP3 output file

Where did you get the show from? You can get serious behavior problems if the original work is in a format that Audacity doesn't entirely understand. In Audacity 1.2, you can get through editing and export before you find out you have a damaged show. You can also have problems if you edited in the A...

Re: File size increase 3x when exporting as MP3

You can use Tracks > Stereo Track To Mono to produce a single sound channel instead of two channels -- a different channel for each ear. If your show is simple spoken word, then mono should be acceptable. A mono show will sound acceptable at half the bitrate of stereo. There are no rules other than ...
