There is an Awkward Workaround. After it zooms out, Control-E to zoom back in and Control-3 to zoom out slightly. That will put you just about where you were expecting to be.

Silence finder fails if there is no silence. Well worn LPs don't have silence.

Re: Removed vocals, but doesn't save!!!
<<<save a few instruments lacking and the vocals echoing in the background.>>> Vocal Removal takes out anything in the middle including, usually, bass and drums. Stereo vocal effects weren't in the middle, so they didn't go. <<<The top two on mono and my recoding on stereo.>>> That I wouldn't do. Co...

Re: Can Audacity edit background noise?
You're fine. Audaciy 1.2 has a very simple noise reduction system. Audacity 1.3 is much more comprehensive and talented, but few software packages can get rid of static. Noise reduction works by looking at a profile or sample of noise without the performance and then it tries to subtract the profile...

We can continue to wait for other postings, but I don't know anybody who can rescue that with any software.

Re: Audacity Records Too Fast Makes Voice Very Deep
Any time you install multiple sound programs on your computer, they're going to try and load their own software and drivers. Somebody is going to win and in your case, Ventrilo and Audacity lose. Skype and Ventrilo are toxic for different reasons. Skype takes over the machine and to heck with everyb...

<<<What to do?>>>
Stop using ASIO drivers. Audacity doesn't support ASIO.
See if your device has WIndows drivers.

Re: Removing Vocals on Songs
<<<Is there a better way?>>> Probably not. Audacity has a tool called "Center Pan Removal" that does all those steps in one shot. However chances for success are very low. There's a lot of reasons to fail. The show needs to be in Stereo and not Mono. It has to not be an MP3 or other highly...

Re: Excessive noise
In that case, it's possible your Windows is trying to help you with auto level setting or one of the other sound tools. If you run through your Windows Control Panels, are there any settings for Automatic Volume, Automatic Gain Control or anything like that? Does it still do that if you reduce the v...

Re: No playback...
<<<Am I missing a setting? >>> You could be setting something incorrectly, or you could have no setting to go to. Generally, you have to record "Mix-Out" or "What U Hear" instead one of the more normal inputs or outputs. Some computers don't support that anymore. http://wiki.auda...
