Re: Can Audacity edit background noise?
By the way, that noise isn't static. <<<it's from a concert>>> It's your camera microphone overloading. Happens all the time. Home style camcorders do not have the range to be able to deal with the intense volumes from a live performance. News gathering or upper end camcorders have provision to prev...

Re: Sudden recording distortion?
Nobody ever claimed that Ion turntables were models of stability. A very common complaint is "I made it through my first four albums and now new albums are enormously distorted." Replug the USB connection and restart the computer. If that fails, remember where you left the purchase receipt...

Re: Sudden recording distortion?
Those numbers on the left probably should be 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Reset in Audacity Preferences and restart.

Re: computer won't let me play it after i recorded it
We could use just a few more pieces of information, like the type of computer and exact version of Audacity. If you're using a USB sound device like a new turntable, many times Windows will mistakenly record from the turntable and then send the playback out to the same turntable instead of the speak...

Re: no playback of first track while recording new track
There is an Audacity Preference called something like Play old Tracks while Recording new ones. Restart Audacity when you make system changes.

Re: Stick UNDO to each track?
I never completed the project.
I suppose I could borrow some anthracite and start one of the Windows machine with Cool Edit or Adobe Audition.

Re: Setting bit rate to 546 ensures lossless wma?
LALA appears to be a Music CD swapping and sales site with a side of MP3 management. It doesn't say anything about other sound formats.

Re: Low Level Using Microphone & Lightsnake USB
<<<perfect for overdubbing.>>> Not quite perfect. Mac's don't support Hardware Playthrough, so that connection will only give you the old performance, not you mixed in with it in real time. My idea is to get a little devious. You connect the Effects Send to the computer for recording, and the comput...

Re: How to enable the pdown input selector"
<<<1.2.X is locked for Questions.>>> Stay here for right now, but it should work now. They may have been doing a system update when you tried. Who in their right mind would be posting on Christmas? I don't know that I would be bothering with the pulldown. Dig in Audacity Preferences to change the in...
