Re: inserting track markers for a continuous DJ mix

Interesting that Gapless was left in the dust. That's clearly part of the original specification as classical music was on everybody's mind when they wrote it.

Re: Changed PC want to import all music

<<<I suppose the alternative would be >>>

It's a little more complex than that. The clips go left-right-left-right, so you could be there a very long time. That's why everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the developers created those tools.

Re: ERROR!!!

You probably shouldn't publish massive messages until we ask you. The forum isn't that big. <tag name="TITLE" value="..........#x2000; And the very next character in that line is a forbidden character that Audacity doesn't know how to interpret, so the process crashes. On my machine i...

Re: DVD-Audio

Happy New Year to you. <<<I'll use the highest quality I can find with Audacity (32 bit float & 44,100HZ) or Switch. >>> That's actually an interesting discussion. That's not straightforward, either. 41000, 32-floating, Stereo is Audacity default format because it has great ability to survive sp...

Re: Equalizer load/save the curve into a file

This is the low cut filter characteristic of the Shure Brothers microphone filter.

I have the data file around here somewhere.

.....OK. Maybe I don't. I can't find it on the web site. Perhaps I couldn't save it because it can't be done in 1.2.

Re: Equalizer load/save the curve into a file

Sure. I've emailed equalizer curves to people.
I swear I did it in the earlier version, tho... I've only been using 1.3.7 for a really short time.

Re: inserting track markers for a continuous DJ mix

Sure. See above. The trick isn't in Audacity although that's part of it. You need to be using a Music CD Authoring Program that lets you turn off the automatic, standard 2-second hole between tracks. It's not unusual for the free programs to remove control of that tool and it magically shows up agai...

<<<and listen on an a mp3 player? >>> No, but you can listen on any iPod/iTunes/iPhone. <<<Most everything sounds good on my computer speakers.>>> That's my point. If you're never going to listen on anything other than Computer Speakers, then moderate MP3 compression will work just fine. The first t...

Re: One intrument too quiet, everything else great

You can also get this if there is damage in the wiring to the cartridge. It has the same fuzzy effect of having one channel out of phase, but it's worse because the volume of each side also changes depending on the volume of the other. The Center of Performance wanders. I don't know a good way to te...

Re: Low Level Using Microphone & Lightsnake USB

Since 23DEC, I've been crossing the country. Unlike in Great Britain where you can do that in a lunch break -- on foot, here, it takes a little longer, so I haven't been free to mess with stuff.
