Re: Tascam US 1641

<<<I would intend to use XLR splitter cables (1 female to 2 males) to feed each instrument/vocal signal to both the Tascam and to our Behringer mixing console during live performance.>>> There is one analog and one digital problem. The digital one is easy. Audacity doesn't support ASIO software driv...

Re: Re-Timing AC3 audio

I think with you on the forum, the people interested in cross-standard video sync converters come to....... two. Without scaring you, there are quite a number of very serious Audacity problems pending and the Audacity Development Team just isn't that big. If all of them went down to the pub for a pi...

Re: Setup Window won't open for Mac

The short answer is no. I use Audacity 1.3.7 from here... Audacity 1.3.7 -- Mac http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-1.3.7.zip Or you can pull down and install the nightly build from here... Re: Re-Timing AC3 audio

Since we last "spoke," one other other elves posted that this may not be such an awful idea after all -- at least in the much more modern Audacity versions... stevethefiddle wrote: Just a point about changing speed in Audacity. While the "Change Tempo" and "Change Pitch"...

Re: Can't Export Multiple Files On 11th Attempt

You can get that error if you use punctuation marks in your filename. Like to use dates in your filename? Write them like this: 20100101.

Upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscore and dash. Tha's the whole list of safe characters in a filename.

Return to the place of Destruction

After I "administer" somebody (permanently), I've never seen a clicky that brings me back to the same place on the forum to hit the next poster that needs administering. It's always back up to the top and drill down again.

Re: stereo or mono...thats the question

Here's one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gramophone_record#Stereo_sound Stereo recording vibrations go Upper-Left/Lower-Right and Upper-Right/Lower Left. Like a big "X." Vertical only groove vibrations like Edison used have limitations and are very noisy. Horizontal only groove vibrations ...

Re: stereo or mono...thats the question

Thought Exercise. Stereo Cartridges are designed to pick up mono recordings with more or less equal volume on both sides. Neither side of the cartridge really lines up with the music. I can't find a really good illustration of this. The explanations are either wrong or don't have pictures. Groove no...
