Re: sounds great in Audacity, sounds bad in iTunes

Just because I can see this question on the horizon; Music CDs do not support song titles. There wasn't room for that when they designed the format. Music CDs seem to be supporting song titles because when you slide a new Music CD into a computer, the computer goes out to GraceNote® and looks up the...

Re: sounds great in Audacity, sounds bad in iTunes

Is there a very clear, specific purpose in your using AIFF? There is no damage by doing that, but I've never found it necessary to deviate from WAV files -- even on a Mac. WAV files are accepted on all three major computing platforms. I can tell you that with absolute assurance.

<<<Muffled and low level.>>> iTunes has several Preference settings that can affect volume and presentation. iTunes > Preferences > Playback > Sound Enhancer and Sound Check. Re: codec

Since these things are throw-away turntables, sometimes they have to be thrown away before the job is done. If you're on the fifth or sixth day of no joy, take it back.

Re: audio file cuts off as attachment

Without over-analyzing it, Audacity 1.3.10 has troubles with Export. Try the 1.3.11 nightly build from here. Audacity 1.3 Nightly Build -- Mac http://www.audacity.homerow.net/index.php?dir=mac%2F Try variations. Does it cut off the same amount no matter how long the show is? Does it always pop off t...

Re: Unhandled exception

Last pat on the fanny before you get too far away. Very Magic Things Happen when you start to produce large shows. Don't. Produce shows like that in hour-long chunks and if needed, string them together for presentation later. You will only get 78-1/2 minutes on a Standard Music CD in one go anyway, ...

This six second thing was recorded exactly the way you're trying to. Very Large Yamaha Keyboard headphone out into a Mac PowerBook Line-In. http://www.kozco.com/tech/piano2.wav Macs do this without the USB Device step, but you should be able to do as well properly tricked out with appropriate hardwa...

<<<I save the file frequently.>>> Since Audacity will not Save a sound file, what you are really doing is creating a recursively more and more complicated Audacity Project. How long is the show? Do you ever try to put illegal characters in your filenames? Upper and lower case letters, numbers, dash,...
