Forgot one piece. Denise was on headphones, too. so neither voice had that gargly, bubbly, echo-cancellation-artifact Skype sound. Skype (in this case) was loafing the whole time.

Yes. Headphones are absolutely required for this trick. You have too many live sound pathways flying around to make a good recording otherwise. You can go through the performance word by word, boosting the quiet bits, but we can't do anything about the parts you can't understand no matter what, and we can't do anything about the grainy noise. No. The Alesis keyboard comes with sustain pedal, USB cable, and Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition software. Last I checked, Audacity won't record direct from a MIDI keyboard because the connection isn't sound. It's keystrike data. So you have to either record the music in Something Else (Ableton), o...
