<<<Thanks for confirming I am not crazy.>>> No, no. We didn't say that. You may still actually be crazy. And yes, you hit the perfect storm of export problems, but nobody's chomping at the bit to fix problems in Windows 98 software. See, if you were on a Mac, this wouldn't have happened at all. The ...

<<<Thanks for opening up this can of worms!>>> I completely disagree!! Don't worry. I always say that. They take my curmudgeon certification away from me if I don't. I'm going to throw a different fish in the fry. How many digital backups do you keep of your work? I keep all my old vinyl work right ...

That's what I'm typing on.
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers.

Re: audio hijack pro and audacity
However, sometimes it's good to monitor on headphones so you can take them off. If you monitor local speakers, you can't ever change the volume because some capture programs burn the Mac boop boop boop volume effects into the show. If you think about it far enough ahead of time you can turn that off...

Re: removing vocals ripped off of youtube
And it fails completely if the whole show is in mono, which some shows do to save space on YouTube. Almost all NPR downloaded radio shows are in mono.
Vocal Removal is a nice idea, but it rarely works like everybody is expecting it to.

These are throw-away turntables. Sometimes, you have to throw them away a little sooner than was intended. Once one of these things starts delivering trash, that's the end of the story.

Re: Speed of playback
Eagerly waiting results. I have a really rough time believing any of those settings can let you get many minutes into a show and only then screw up. Generally, if you have a bit rate mismatch or other difficulty like that, it fails right away. I've only had one or two problems like that in the milli...
