Re: WMA audio

Can you change the values before you export?

Depth/Rate Conversion
-- Change Project Rate (Hz) lower left > 48000
-- Track Name > Set Sample Format > 16-bit PCM
-- File > Export > Format > Other uncompressed File Types

Re: Mac Click Track?

Mac Audacity 1.3.7.

Load a sound clip.

Generate > Click Track.

I don't have later Audacity versions on this machine. Audacity has a tradition of some tools only work if you already have a working show or some work already current.

Re: Change sample rate of existing track?

You may have changed it in the wrong place. Depth/Rate Conversion -- Change Project Rate (Hz) lower left > 48000 -- Track Name > Set Sample Format > 16-bit PCM -- File > Export > Format > Other uncompressed File Types You can't do this on the fly. You need to load the piece, do the conversion, Expor...

Re: Peak Search

<<<If "show clipping" is selected in the "view" menu you should see a single red line where that peak touches 0dB.>>>

Mine doesn't do that. I only get the red marker if the wave exceeds maximum.

Re: Peak Search

You might be able to derive that in an awkward way with the Amplify tool. The default Amplify will increase the size of the waves until one of them somewhere in the show hits maximum. You can tell amplify to ignore clipping and increase the size a little more. The resulting waves should light up bri...

Re: Recording from a mixer

<<<I was told to hook up an RCA cable from the master booth in my mixer to the line input in my computer (my microphone jack).>>> That would have worked out perfectly...on a Mac. Macs actually do have Stereo Line-In connections. Your computer is expecting a tiny, delicate, weak, mono microphone sign...

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

Samson 01/03. One of them doesn't support switching patterns. Switching can be handy. I believe we have two Snowballs now and they seem to work very well. They have pattern switching and switchable, built-in attenuator for very loud passages. If you have no microphone experience, you may find the ma...

Re: removing vocals from a track using invert effect?

Some of those paid packages claim to be able to get around some of the problems. I know one of them claims to be able to reduce or eliminate vocals even when the performer isn't in the middle of the show.

Re: measuring frequency of a resonating wineglass

<<<The primary mode will be due to the bowl ovalling.>>>

I'd like to buy a set of fine, tall, crystal stemware with good bowl ovalling, please.
