Re: First track leaking onto second track when overdubbing

If you like to record or capture internet radio shows, you might have Windows Mix-Out or What-U-Hear selected to do this. You need to turn that off if you're going to overdub or perform sound-on-sound.

Re: Telephone Pod Cast Interviews

There is no easy, high quality, cheap way of getting a standard copper line telephone into a recording. However, you can use the Pamela Professional or Business software package with Skype to do this job very well. Both of those packages will put your voice on one track and the talent's voice on ano...

Re: wav file names not showing on burned cd

Re: Audacity runs super-slow and crashes on me

Do you do a lot of production on your machine? Do you know how full the hard drive is and/or how big it is? Hard drives become fragmented if they're used a lot. Programs leave little shards, fragments, and pieces lying around. Audacity will not work into a fragmented hard drive and very few programs...

Re: Help with fixing a poor quality interview

One other note. Don't post MP3 files for this kind of work. MP3 creates sound damage so we are dealing with your damage plus the MP3 damage.

WAV is good.

Re: Help with fixing a poor quality interview

It does rather come down to how important this is in dollars. You or someone can always go through the tape second by second and suppress the odd noises manually and then process the rest to brighten it up a bit and get rid of the hiss, but this isn't a "I'm New To Audacity" kind of job an...
