In Audacity, Batch Processing is called Chains. I can't find any instructions for Chains. I know there are some and Chains in 1.3 has gotten quite a bit better in later versions. I'm going to keep looking. That's the search term.

<<<44100Hz means that the incoming signal is sampled 44100 times per second but this is unrelated to the relative speeds of the recording and the playback.>>> But they can be. If you have a show at one sample rate and it's played at another by accident, the quality and speed will be seriously compro...

Re: Export Multiple MP3 problems
We hope you're using Audacity 1.3.10 and you just posted in the Audacity 1.2 forum by accident. But, yes this is a known problem in 1.3.10.

Re: Level problems when recording from decks
The worst problem with what you're doing is the music system is stereo and Mic-In is Mono. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audioconnectors/audioconnectors.html The top illustration is your mixer and the bottom is the computer. They're very different. If you're on a deskside machine, you may have a real st...

Re: Equalizer curve advice
<<<But i tested mp3 clips on PC speakers, not on phone yet.>>> That's not what I said earlier. I said good quality speakers or headphones. Most PC speakers are one small step away from not having speakers at all. The way you're doing it, you're trading one set of crappy speakers for another, differe...

Re: Error: not well-informed (invalid token) at line 8
I know what it is and I know how to fix it, but I don't remember how to tell on a Mac where the problem is. You can open up your AUP file in TextEdit and read it. It's not a sound file. It's computer programming in semi-English. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/aup1.jpg This is a picture of a very sim...

Re: Is there any way to distinguish voices in Audacity?
Funny I could sense your Skype aura, but not your Mac aura. Are you a recent convert from Windows? It takes a while for the stain to fade. You can do all the elves a really big favor by posting in a Mac section of the forum next time. There's a section for Audacity 1.2 and one for 1.3. It keeps us f...

It makes me really nervous when I ask about version numbers and you say, "What time is it now?"

Re: better quality LP recordings
It's a balancing act. The turntable itself contributes rumble, flutter, wow and other speed variations and noise. The arm's job is to hold the cartridge in exactly the right place with the right pressure. Too high and the record becomes damaged, to low the the needle will not follow the sound in the...
