Re: Google Voice/Audacity WASAPI question
How's the sound quality? " I posted two sample sound clips. It works with any connection that looks like a computer Mic-In. It needs "Plug-In-Power." It works from the computer's 5v power system. The H2n has a place to plug a device like this. See if it mentions Plug-In-Power in the i...

Re: Google Voice/Audacity WASAPI question
In case it's not obvious, it plugs in my ear. It records me through bone conduction and the guest as a regular microphone recording of the phone earpiece.
That's why it doesn't look like any microphone you've ever seen before.

Re: Google Voice/Audacity WASAPI question
Found it. My TP-8 will plug into a cellphone or a computer Mic-In without the adapters.
Let us know if you try it. Everybody sees a hardware solution and runs the other way. The difference is I got a sound file and you didn't.
Amazon: $15 USD.

Re: Google Voice/Audacity WASAPI question
I use a special microphone. The Olympus TP-7. Here it is plugged into an Olympus voice recorder. OlympusWS823-TP7.jpg With an adapter, it will plug into the Mic-In of a computer. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7.jpg There is a variation called the TP-8. I don't think that needs th...

Re: RMS Normalise
Quick note, the technical specification requirement is step one. You also have to pass Human Quality Control. That's where a person listens to your work for theater, voice quality and distortion.
You have to pass everything.

Re: RMS Normalise
now it throws the noise floor level off. That's normal. Home readers never pass noise. Record a ten second voice test and post it. Read down the blue links. They're very short. Do Not change anything. No filters, effects or improvements. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.ht...

Re: Have I messed up the audio file, or just the display?
You selected the Envelope Tool (two arrows and bent line). Normal display is with the "I-Beam" tool.
While you're there, the Envelope Tool will allow you to make second-by-second changes in sound volume just by drawing them in. Click and pull.

Re: Phaser Sound In Background
So you weren't using "slight" reduction. That tool used to be called Noise Removal. It was changed when too many people were expecting it to remove noise...to nothing. It won't do that without affecting the show.better using the Sinsitivity within the Nose Reduction

Re: Phaser Sound In Background
Is there a way to eliminate this phaser sound? Not in post production, no. I would go straight for Noise Reduction artifacts, but I don't think that's the problem this time. I think you didn't turn off all the Windows filters, effects and enhancements. Screen Shot 2020-05-14 at 3.38.03.png While yo...
