Re: Recording / Microphone
The short answer is no. If you have a sound card that supports Preferences > Hardware Playthrough, you can get really, really close. The only way to get zero latency aside from a Digital Audio Workstation is a small mixer before the computer. Some USB microphones have local monitoring with a hole on...

Edit Markers
============================================================== o Mark-in and mark-out points: As per video editors, "I" sets Edit In Point and "O" sets Edit Out Point. Should use zero-crossing accuracy. Doesn't matter what you do between those two actions; once you press "O&...

Re: G-Track noise ?
Live performances are always a juggling act between too loud (overload, distortion, crunchy sound) and too low (hiss or shshshshsh in back of the performance). This microphone claims an internal mixer and production tools. It's possible you have the microphone turned down in the mix panel and that w...

Right click on the music file > Properties > Extra or Advanced should tell you about the MP3 information.

<<<I assume you can right-click on the file and the properties should tell you>>>
I don't know that I've ever seen the MP3 bitrate listed anywhere.
You don't have to "Split Stereo Track To Mono." Effect > Normalize affects each side independently.

Re: Audacity stops recording after 15 mins
How much hard drive space do you have? Sound captures take up a lot of drive space in a hurry. Audacity won't work into a highly fragmented hard drive, either. Defrag -- Right Click Start > Explore > Right Click Local Drive C: > Properties (Used, Remaining) > Tools > Error Checking & Defragmenta...

Re: distortion?
It pops in, or it gets gradually more and more distorted as you go? You're listing to the mixer in your headphones, right? That's clean? Has it happened at least three times? Does it do it after you restart your Mac? Is there any way to post a little of the noisy performance? We warn people not to p...

Re: Won't let me record
What are you trying to record? That makes a big difference in what we tell you. You can't give us too much information. Model numbers? cable types?

Re: mp3 files become much larger after changes
<<<and re save as mp3 at the original quality level>>> That you almost certainly can't do. Keep changing the quality settings (bitrate) and exporting until you get a show about the right digital size. If you do hit it, the show is going to sound rattier than the original because of the cumulative co...
