Re: distortion

Most Windows Laptops are business machines even if you didn't buy them that way. They're designed to plug a headset into the side and make Skype busine...

Did you notice that we've been pushing you off to Audacity 1.3.11 at every opportunity? There's a reason for that. A lot of the diagnostic and critical repair tools in 1.3 are considered the finished and working tools. Audacity 1.2, not so much. I was going to point you at Noise Removal as an experi...

Re: Latency that changes
And just so we're crystal clear, Latency is the fixed (usually) delay between you singing live and the track played back to you for matching. Re: bug or design flaw or stupid user ?
In case we never got to tell you, all these tools are under the black down arrow to the left of the track, not at the top of Audacity.
And don't fog the issue with other quality problems. Let's get the basic tools to work first, then we'll deal with your broken sound card.

Or it could be your computer gasping for air once a second as it tries to find empty hard drive space on a fragmented drive. Error check and defragment early and often. Defrag -- Right Click Start > Explore > Right Click Local Drive C: > Properties (Used, Remaining) > Tools > Error Checking & De...
