Re: Managing excess volume without buzz
<<<What is the best way to handle this during audio editing?>>> You don't. This is the precise problem with portable recorders. You can't reach over and turn the recorded volume down, although the Marantz is better at that than the Zoom. I believe the Zoom recorders have an option of a certain amoun...

Re: unsure if audacity will record teleseminar
That's only the free way to do it. If nothing else works, you can use Total Recorder or other Windows software package. I've used my license for years.

Re: unsure if audacity will record teleseminar
Well. As the version of Windows goes up, the hostility to recording internet audio goes up. Last known, Mix-Out was a "Hidden" or Obsolete" tool and you had to go digging for it. Did you go down all the threads in that instruction page? This is not a new problem. http://forum.audacity...

Re: Fade in and Fade out at the the beginning and end of eac
Can we assume you mean fade in at the leading label and and out at the trailing one? One problem might be that labels, unlike edit markers, have no relationship to the last cut. They label the beginning of a cut. Audacity 1.3 labels have a number of additional talents, however, and there might be so...

Re: so my pc got infected.....
I know the general fuzzy overview of this. Since you didn't blow everything away and reinstall Windows, only Windows started out fresh. Audacity leaves preference files behind and they don't become new when you reinstall Audacity. So your shiny new Audacity install is standing on old, stained, crack...

Re: Compressing WAV files?
You are warned that home-burned Music CDs have about the same life expectancy as color photographs. They use a similar dye formulation. They're not the precision laser drilled holes in an aluminum plate that commercial purchased CDs are. Don't leave them in the sun or in your car very long. So you'l...

Re: How to Increase Volume?
When you play your ringtone, do the green volume meters go most of the way up to "0" and kind of bounce up there? How about the blue waves on the timeline? Are they most of the way up to "1" without touching it? It's suspicious that none of those tools had any effect. I can under...

It's probably a cousin to something I posted locally.

If you back up one directory, it gets even broader.

Re: Error saving message
Just a note here, when the elves are tying to dig someone out of a problem, nobody is going to crank through that decision tree of safe characters. We can get people out of trouble immediately by invoking the "Universal Safe Character" list. We don't care a wit what you do after that, but ...
