Re: Problem Recording Sound from Speakers

You may need to restart the computer after you kill off Skype. Skype viciously reassigns sound pathways to suit itself and it doesn't like to give them up and it's not negotiable. If you mean the input or mic volume control in Audacity, that could be responding to the Windows Control Panel settings ...

Re: Is there a way to fix recording weirdness?

It's difficult for that combination to produce that error. So this is my puzzled puppy look [tilting head sideways]. The microphone has been working for months, or this is the first voyage out of the shipping package? <<<Compaq Presario CQ60 notebook>>> Does that computer have a built-in microphone?...

Re: Transfering from Audacity to itunes

The mix plays OK in Audacity and then it plays OK in iTunes, right? It only plays funny after you burn the Music CD and then try to play it? If that's true, try a different maker of blank CD-R. What's the program you're using to burn the music CD and what kind of computer do you have? Mac, Windows? ...

Re: Problem Recording Sound from Speakers

If your computer supports it, you can activate recording from Mix-Out. This is the classic way to record what your computer is playing. <<<and the one I'm using, at least in my estimation, is pretty nice, it's borrowed from a friend who's a music teacher)>>> What can you tell us about that microphone and how is it connected? Do you have a mixer between the microphone and the computer? Straight in? How is everything connected? Be com...

Re: Is there a way to fix recording weirdness?

Oh. Forget the Mix-Out thing. You're damaging the sound channel. I need to go back and read the thread again..

Re: Will this setup be okay & do i need to buy a soundcard?

<<<usb TTs do not need to be a problem>>> Yes they do. They are almost universally terrible turntables because they are designed to be thrown out, not saved for years and carefully maintained. The elves have had very bad experiences with them and they appear on the forum often with one breakdown or ...

<<<That did pop up I set it up all the way>>>

It's not a 'set it up all the way' kind of tool. Boost is either on or off. It doesn't have options.

Re: Is there a way to fix recording weirdness?

You may be recording Mix-Out in addition to the microphone or sound channel you were expecting. On a newer machine, that can cause some pitches and notes to cancel out. On older machines, it can cause a clear echo, so those are easy to spot Mix-Out is the setting you need to record internet audio. T...
