Re: I need my left and right speakers to match up

He's right. Your playback system is doing something to the sound. That's a mono sound track and it will normally play equally on both speakers -- if the speakers are OK. Do you have headphones or earbuds? Try plugging them into your computer to listen. The blue waves above and below 0 are not left a...

There is one software package that claims to be able to do Direction Subtraction or Direction Isolation instead of always working in the middle. Like being ab...

Re: Audacity crashed whilst trying to save as audacity proje

MP3 is a delivery format intended to be the last step in the production process -- the one the end client listens to -- not a production step in the middle. MP3 causes sound damage -- always -- and you can't stop it. WAV format doesn't which is why it's the Audacity default. Projects are a lot more ...

Re: Audacity crashed whilst trying to save as audacity proje

If you've been through crash recovery and it didn't help, then there aren't a lot more places to go. Crash Recovery http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=CrashRecovery I rarely use Audacity Projects -- only when I need to suspend a multi-track project and work on it later, pretty much what it...

Re: Whine on USB mixer only when Aud is monitoring

Let me predict the past. You're putting your headphones into the mixer with the idea that you're going to listen to both the computer and your live performance. Meanwhile, the live performance only is going into Audacity for capture and recording. Right? That mixer will not do that. I bet you're lis...

Pull down this short sound clip...

Start Audacity fresh and open that file. Does the echo tool work?
