Re: mic for low frequencies
<<<can i get that in cardioid or figure 8?>>> Oh you can get a lot crazier than that. Sound systems that respond down to zero are the stuff of audio legend. The famous Crown DC-300 was a horse of an amplifier that would amplify DC. It was designed to run the motors of a shake table in scientific exp...

<<<any suggestions on how to bust the recorded volume of my recording.>>>
I'm not sure what that means. You're recording an internet radio show and you want to make it louder?

Re: Recording problems
Three problems right away. -- You should probably be using Audacity 1.3. I would expect Audacity 1.2 to have problems with Win7. Audacity 1.3 has very much better tools than 1.2 and is much more stable (in spite of what the labels say). -- Mic-In on the laptop is mono and expecting a really tiny, de...

Re: Changing pitch of voice/vocal but NOT background music
You can start out with the idea that you can't do this at all. Straight separation of one instrument (or a voice) from a performance isn't done and normal pitch change will not go male/female. You might be able to use the vocal isolation software some people offer. Voice Removal or Isolation --Voice...

Re: mic for low frequencies
Electret Condenser. No, those won't do that. You need a pressure transducer -- see: Whomper above. Something whose grandmother was an electronic postage scale or a meat scale, not a performance microphone. Those are seriously difficult to use. You can't move one at all because any motion through the...

Re: Whine on USB mixer only when Aud is monitoring
Sorry. I missed a step. That's a quote from your mixer instruction book -- on-line version. [Booming kettle drum sound] They claim a condition whereby the computer will send sound back to your headphones. They're clear about that. So that's the sound pathway you're probably hearing and you may need ...

<<<But now I am thinking of recording everything from the DJ's mixer to my MacBook Pro and then using the audio file to replace the on-camera audio..>>> Yes, but don't stop doing it the old way. If anything happens to the MacBook, you still have the conventional track. <<<3). Then I should boot up A...

I may know what the mystery link between Audacity and the mixer is. This is a reading from the web site...
You can also monitor back from your computer through the same USB connection.
How do your instructions say to do that?
