From the web site on-line instructions.
The DLL should go, I'm guessing on a Windows machine, the Plugins folder. Are there a bunch of other DLLs in there already to give you a warm-fuzzy feeling you got the right place?

Re: no Incoming SOUND
You may have two (or more) problems. Intel Macs under Leopard or Snow Leopard do not support Audacity 1.2. Download and install Audacity 1.3.11 or 1.3.12, whichever is current. Did you install exactly the correct sound card for your version of OS-X? You can't fudge the hardware requirements, OS-X go...

<<<audicity seems to be working fine. >>> It would. My Audacity 1.2.5 works fine on my Intel Tiger machine, although I do all my work on 1.3.7. It has problems, but none of the problems affect what I do. The drivers work intimately with the operating system, so this maybe one of the places where cro...

Re: File rename command in a chain.
If you're a programmer, you could write an Audacity tool yourself. That would be your contribution to the open source community. So the choices are: write it yourself, wait for somebody else to write it, do the job outside of Audacity the simplest way being Windows Command Line as written above. Koz

Re: CoreAudio on MacBook
Tiger (OS-X 10.4.11) is a legacy operating system on an Intel machine like the MacBook. We're running into more and more services and devices that refuse to run on our Tiger and earlier Panther machines. One of the video services I use only runs on my MacBook Pro under Leopard. Not the larger but ol...
