Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

Quarter inch interface on a computer sound card (a real internal card) is most unusual.

Re: Newbie with Noise Removal problems with 78s

<<<But as one would imagine there is a LOT of static noise, clicks and pops in the recording.>>> But there doesn't have to be. 78s take a different size needle from 45 and 33-1/3. If you try to use a 45 needle anyway, the needle will sit at the bottom of the super-wide groove a pick up a huge amount...

Re: Workflow to take Audacity Projects to AAC in iTunes

It's not that easy. You can get stealth increases. Say you have a performance rich in overtones and aggressive percussion. You apply the equalizer and roll off the high frequencies at some arbitrary value and when you apply it, you're astounded to discover that the sound appears to be perfect, but s...

Re: Guitar to PC

Plugging a guitar output into a sound card Line-In (blue?) should work even though you'll only get sound on Left of the stereo pair and it will be slightly weak. If you're missing the ability to get sound into Audacity at all, it could be the wacky way Windows decided to arrange sound sources. http:...

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

<<<line/mic input.>>> We warn people about those English words. Stereo Line-In (blue) is very different from the mono Mic-In (pink). Very few sound cards have provision to switch between them allowing you to use one connection for both. The best sound cards that provide one connection have little &q...

Re: What effect do you recommend for warming up a digital pi

Sometimes you can add echo or reverb to an electronic instrument and improve its sound. Audacity has GVerb and you can add others. Many of the effects can have problems of their own, however, because it's difficult to recreate the number of bounces a sound has in a room. I have a large, floor-standi...

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

I have a process whereby you can use the PV6 and the Macbook as a Digital Audio Workstation enough to sing (or perform) overdubbing and multi-layer recordings with no delay error. I use the Effects Send sound pathways in the PV6 in addition to the straight show channels to do this. I'm going to work...

Re: Delay when recording

That particular delay you can fix.

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed

<<<Koz have you tested any Art Tube MP? >>> I have no experience with those. I have a natural reluctance to use anything with a vacuum tube in it. Vacuum tubes bought me a great deal of food over the years and I think they're best left in their grave. I talked to a tube preamplifier user a while bac...

Re: Cannot record streaming audio in Win XP

If nothing in that web page worked, the short answer is change the sound card and/or look for updated driver software.

Or use software designed to do live captures like Total Recorder.
