Re: Good Gverb settings for song vocals?
It's harder to do than you think. It's one of those "you can't really do this" tools. Each live room produces an infinite number of echoes and the software can only manage a few. The trick is to get the right ones. The middle of our building is a long hallway and a really tall ceiling thre...

Re: so my pc got infected.....
Does it actually record the performance like that, or are you getting a distorted monitor/headphones? If you like to record internet audio, you need to know to turn off What-U-Hear or Mix-Out before you try anything live. Also as a proof of performance, go into Audacity Preferences and turn off &quo...

Microphones are mono unless you have one of those too fancy for words stereo microphones. Is there a maker or part number on this microphone? How do you have it plugged into your computer? Re: imported wav file won't play
Can you download and play any of these short WAV files OK? http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html <<<using windows media player 11, i have ripped a cd track to wav file>>> I would be very skeptical WM would let you do any such thing, but I guess it's possible. More likely, it produced a Windows M...

Re: USB mic Snowflake not recognized
Sorry. That's a mistake. Set Audacity for 44100, 16-bit, Mono.
Is this a cousin microphone to the Snowball? That's the setting that works on both of our Snowballs.

Re: USB mic Snowflake not recognized
That's a little unusual. Do you get the bouncing blue balls in Apple System Preferences? That's important. Audacity won't do anything the computer won't do. Start or restart Audacity and change the preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Restart Audacity. Then go into Audacity preferences again and se...

Re: Installed on OS-X, Cannot save project?
The older versions just won't even start on my Leopard machine, but some people get them to start and then 1.2 does odd and unstable things until they stop using it. Don't worry about the Stable and Unstable thing. That hasn't been true in months. Just to cover it. You get the dmg file and double sl...

Re: Installed on OS-X, Cannot save project?
When you install Audacity you have to "explode" the dmg file into the operating files (double click) and then drag those into your Audacity folder and then into /Applications.
