Re: Guitar solos Sound awful - hhhhelp!
<<<I mean I recorded the initial backing SONG with the stereo mix option >>> Please understand that the two steps you need are very different and the first can screw up the second. Where did the original song come from? Did you buy a physical Music CD? Music download? iTunes? Forget the microphone f...

Re: Recording streaming audio
You, or the computer are rapidly digging yourself a hole. The ability of the computer to record itself is built into the sound card, the sound card software drivers, and Windows. If any one of them decides you are not going to record internet audio, that's the ball game. It's not up to Audacity. Aud...

Re: Newbie: Playback ok, but recording with an echo
I suppose it's possible you damaged your sound cable or the connections. You did not change the computer, right? Start Audacity fresh and go into record. Leave the tape machine off. Behind the computer, unplug the audio cable and plug it back in firmly several times. Stop Audacity. Control-F to see ...

Re: imported wav file won't play
It's not a problem. Music CDs do not have the song titles on the disk. There isn't room. Music on the disk is called track 01, track 02, etc. When you play a music CD in your computer, the computer inspects the disk and tries to find the song titles on the internet. It can guess wrong and it doesn't...

Re: Emphasize voice
<<<But there are still noises>>> You didn't say, "but now I can understand the lecture." Are you trying to capture the lecture as a performance piece instead of just listening to what's being said? To get a performance piece, you need to have the microphone at the performer or lecturer. Th...

I have a collection of the THAT audio chips which claim similar specs. Ever try to Google "that?"

Re: mic preamp with digital output?
A note here. Direct To USB, in my experience, tends to be a little wimpy in sound level. The manufacturer's are perfectly clear that of the two errors, only Too High is immediately damaging and fatal to the show. Too Low is a very minor inconvenience...maybe. That and I see the spectre of Multi-Chan...
