You might try changing Audacity sound preferences to 44100 (probably already there) 16-bit (not 32-bit) and 2(Stereo) not 1(mono). Restart Audacity and try it again. Those are the sound standards for a Music CD and almost everybody supports them.

Re: Ringing in Conversion from Wav to MP3
<<<2. How can I make a clean sounding mp3 file in Audacity at 16 kbps?>>> You probably don't. The minimum bit rate for a mono show is 32. Stereo is 64. Lower than that, the show rapidly gets bubbly, honky, and muffled. You are warned that compressors only work when they're presented with perfect, cl...

Re: piano sounds great going in, lousy in Audacity
OK, well that's one problem right there. Channel 1 should be panned hard left and channel 2 hard right. Keyboard Left should be in Channel 1.That will put a stereo show into the mixer when you advance the faders. The GTR/Line switch should be in Line. The Phantom Power button should be off unless yo...

Re: Blue screen of death on XP every time
<<<I hadn't gotten a BSOD in months except for this.>>> Those are the really scary English words. I run three different Windows machines with video and audio production programs and haven't had a BSOD this decade. Audacity is the canary in the coal mine. If your machine is already on the edge, Audac...

Re: Edit latency in 1.2.6
In 1.3.11?
I don't believe 1.2 versions of Audacity ever had latency adjustments, assuming you and I mean the same thing by the word "Latency."

Someone will correct me, but we appear to be done. Can you think of any way to improve that?
I'm out.
It would be good if more different samples were posted. You know. Just in case we missed something....

<<<I have not done anything weird to my computer settings. >>> That you know of. Do you have a lot of plugins or other add-on programs?
