Re: How do you take away the singing in a song?
I can tell you that probably nobody can help you. Audacity has a Vocal Removal tool that does probably about what you just did. There are other packaged tools that try to remove the vocals, too, but there are a ton of reasons for this not to work. If your show is in mono -- even if there are two tra...

Click drag a portion of the song. Press and hold the keyboard Control key and tap the E key. Release everything. That should zoom into the work. The other Control codes work the same way. They are keyboard shortcuts and do not always show up in menus.

Re: mp3 exports
The "Open With" preference is fluffy and it can be changed. Right-Click open the file in QuickTime Player. Command-I the INFO panel. What does that say? If that says MP3 file, then you're golden. "MP3" is a shortcut name. The real name is MPEG1, Layer 3. All Mac players and servi...

Re: budget (usb) mic for classical guitar recording needed
I think the most valuable pathway to making recordings is to go up through the junk. Buy the $29 USD equipment and find out the shortcomings. Then resolve them. I don't think you learn nearly as much plunking down in front of a perfect system and have it work first time out -- not that anyone is goi...
