Trust me, "Beta" and "Unstable" were not our idea. If, for example, you're on a New Mac, you would find that "Stable" Audacity will not run at all.

Sorry to appear curt. It cranks our knickers when we're not allowed to fix something this easy.

Sometimes when you plug in a USB device, the computer assumes it needs to send the playback sound back out to the turntable. It makes it very hard to hear the show like that. I think there are extra command and response steps needed during remote login that aren't there when you're sitting in front of the computer. Audacity is easily confused.

Of course, if you wanted to develop a secure, stable remote login for Audacity, the developers would be glad to have you.
