Re: Converting .aup file to MP3 format

That's the wrong MP3 software. You need to get the "lame" software from the Audacity page.

"lame" is the actual, real product name. It's not a description of the quality of the software.

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT

<<<@Whomper, The M-Audio has a Mono/Stereo switch, and if this is set to Stereo, the mic input should be duplicated on both output channels.>>> I would guess no (not having read the instructions). If it's set to Stereo, you can pick which side the microphone appears on. If it's set to mono, the unit...

Re: Importing audio from video clip into Audacity

I don't think you can do that in any software, but if you want to try. Select the track in Final Cut and Export > select stereo track (I use the grown-up Final Cut and they may be a little different). When you're done working on the track, import it as a separate element to the bin and drop it on th...

That didn't work? Koz

And just for the record, what version of Audacity are you using? Help > About.

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT

<<<Audacity must have done an update or something that is making it do it to certain pc's or something.>>> Audacity doesn't do background updates. The only way the software could have changed is if you manually installed a new version. However, Windows changes all the time if you have Auto Update tu...

Re: isolate tracks on imported mp3s?

You can't split apart the individual instruments of a mixed performance. Sometimes you can split or isolate the lead singer, but that doesn't work too well if the music is a highly compressed MP3 download. All the tools fail if the show is special effects heavy. --Voice Trap http://www.cloneensemble...

<<<Well it didn't go quite as you instructed.>>>

So I'm finding out. I've turned this into a Feature Request posting.
